Welcome to a Finnish autodidact (amateur) mixologist’s website. I have never worked in a bar nor have I ever been in contact with cocktails or alcohols professionally. This site is all about my mixology hobby and things surrounding that. All content outside this page is only available in Finnish (apart from this About Me page) so the amount of usable information to anybody not speaking Finnish might be minimal. On the site you can see the cocktails I’ve made and plan on making in the future. You can also see the alcohols I’ve tasted, used and reviewed along with the tools I use within mixology. I have blog in Finnish as well.
COCKTAILS
I make cocktails in my home bar. You can find all the already made and waiting to be made coctails (i.e. all cocktails) here. I’ve also separated the already made and waiting to be made cocktails from each other. By clicking any cocktail you can see the ingredients I’ve used and my review of the cocktail. Below you can see the latest cocktails I’ve made and here you can find a list of my favorite cocktails made so far.
ALCOHOLS
To be able to create my own (tasty) cocktails at some point, I have to know the flavors of the alcohols. That’s why I’ve tasted and reviewed the alcohols I’ve purchased. The tasting is done in small amounts neat. I’ve not reviewed all of the alcohols yet. These are the latest alcohols I’ve added to my site:
I rate the alcohols by reviewing the flavor, nose, look of the bottle and look of the liquid itself. From these ratings I calculate a general score for each alcohol. I use a weighted calculating system, where the flavor is 60% of the general score, the nose is 20%, the look of the bottle 15% and the look of the liquid 5%. I have listed my favorites here (general score). You can also see top listings sorted by flavor, nose, look of bottle or look of liquid. Here are the latest alcohols I’ve tasted & reviewed:
YOUTUBE / VIDEOS
I have a YouTube channel called Autodidakti Miksologi. I make cocktail videos in my home bar and after editing I upload them to YouTube for you to enjoy (more or less). The soundtrack is only available in Finnish. Below you can see my four latest videos. There might also be some other mixology related content on the channel.
